Cipriana and Takenya Quann are identical twin fashionistas from Baltimore taking the fashion world by storm.
Having been featured in every fashion mag of note – we’re talking Vogue, W Magazine, Glamour, W Magazine and Nylon, they have also been the stars of many clothing brand campaigns, amongst an eye-watering number of fashion endorsements, programmes, campaigns and films. The twins style choices are being heard and copied by the big and the beautiful, and they’re only 27 years old.
The first thing to notice is their natural, beautiful afros. The twins show just how creative you can be with big hair, choosing plaits, locks, bush, crimping – every day a different style to match their unconventional, perceptive outfits. And then there’s their natural beauty, but that goes without saying..
Cipriana is the co-founder of a fashion and lifestyle blog, Urban Bush while her sister, Takenya, or, TK Wonder makes electronic music and is a professional singer-songwriter.
The sisters claim their beauty signatures are ‘bare skin, well-groomed brows and a bright lip’, and they don’t go a day without using “NYC’s finest tap water” or, Nature’s Way Extra Virgin coconut oil.
These girls are not only successful models scouted by some of the best agencies in the world, but they are highly respected for their no fear attitude to fashion and their non-conforming lifestyle choices.
In 2014 Vogue chose Cipriana as one of their“6 brilliant women” and she was featured in ‘My Life In Vogue’, a mini-documentary. Vogue said of Cipriana at the time that she is, “six brilliant young women reveal that the trick to living beautifully involves being clever, conscientious, and courageous in everything you do.”
They even voted her Best Dress Blogger of 2013, whilst Gap called her an ‘Influential Millennial’ (whatever that means, it sounds important!). And even HBO Girls series called her ‘the voice of her generation!
Since launching in 2012, UrbanBushBabes has a weekly viewership of 350,000, a combined social media platform of 120,000 and it currently has a whopping 50,000 YouTube subscribers.
Not bad going for 27 year olds!
